Recently, I came across a new app on the iTunes store, called "Telling Time for Kids - Learn to tell time with the interactive Fun Clock", and this app has some delightful learning games to offer the youngsters among us.

The app is geared toward pre-school to primary school aged children. When you first start the game, there are several different categories that are shown, but only the first two categories are unlocked.
Since this app is designed to teach young children about the time, it is logical that the first category introduces the child to the concept of time itself. It is strange to think about learning about time as most of us cannot remember when we learned about time.
In the first category that is unlocked, the child who is learning about Time gets to watch a pleasant little video explaining how a clock works, with the big hand and the little hand, and how to determine what the current time is, depending on the position of the clock hands.
There are other categories that can be unlocked, once the game has been purchased. The second category that is unlocked, that the child can play with is the Static Clock game, and this involves the child dragging the numbers of the clock to the correct position.
Basically, it is a puzzle where all of the numbers have fallen of the clock, and the child has to put it all back together again. Along the way, a pair of friendly looking birds guide the child in making the correct choices and selections.
The game format is good and easy to understand and perfect as a supplementary training tool. Settings in the game allow you to choose a digital clock style or an analog clock style. Also, the music can be turned on or off from within the game.
Once impressive feature of this app is that there is support for many languages. This makes it a great learning tool for those who may not speak english very well, or have recently started to learn the english language.
I can see this app selling well in places like Europe or in Latin America for this reason. I think the graphics are good in this game, and there are plenty of videos that a child can watch. I can recommend this game for younger children, and it is a good app that families can use together.
